Renault Master E-Tech electric van gets larger battery for 2022

Category : ,

Renault’s largest electric van, the Master E-Tech, has been updated for 2022. The French firm says the latest version will be available to order from August, with first deliveries expected in September.

Following the mid-size Kangoo E-Tech’s 2022 update comes revisions to the Master E-Tech. Renault’s large panel van competes with the Ford E-Transit, Citroen e-Relay, Vauxhall Movano-e and Peugeot e-Boxer and was previously known as the Master ZE.

Renault has added a 52kWh battery, replacing the old 33kWh version, giving the Master E-Tech a WLTP-rated 126-mile range. Charging has also improved with a 22kW DC charger adding 30 miles of range in 45 minutes. A 11kW public charging station will see the Master E-Tech add 30 miles in two hours and a 7kW wallbox will see a 20-80 per cent recharge in five hours. The battery offers a maximum power output of 76bhp and 210Nm of torque.

Two trim levels are available, entry-level ‘Start’ and top-spec ‘Advance’. The Master E-Tech comes in panel van, chassis cab and platform cab bodystyles, with panel van versions exclusive to the Advance trim.

Advance features as standard manual air conditioning, rear parking sensors, automatic headlights and automatic wipers. It also offers a suspension seat to improve driver comfort and cross wind assist – complementing the other ADAS features of Hill start assist and ESC (Electronic Stability Control) that are standard across the Master E-Tech lineup. The panel van version of the Master E-Tech offers a payload of up to 1,420kg.

The Master E-Tech starts from £45,915 for the Start chassis cab and rises to £54,795 for the Advance panel van variant.
