Vauxhall Corsa-e Anniversary Edition marks 40th with free socks

Category : ,

It’s been 40 years since we first saw the Vauxhall Nova hit the UK and now the British brand is celebrating the anniversary of the supermini, and its hugely popular Corsa predecessors, with the Corsa-e Anniversary Edition.

The Anniversary Edition is given some exclusive touches to set it apart from the regular Corsa-e supermini. It’s painted in new ‘Record Red’ metallic finish, which Vauxhall says is inspired by the ‘Carmine Red’ from the original Nova. The grille, Vauxhall badges and Corsa lettering on the rear are all finished in black, as well as the 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, Vauxhall has given the Anniversary Edition a ‘modern interpretation’ of the Nova’s tartan seat fabric. Tartan fans will also enjoy the four pairs of socks that come in a special presentation box that feature the Corsa-e and Nova’s tartan design.

The Anniversary Edition is based on the middle spec GS Line so it gets front and rear parking sensors, a 180-degree panoramic rear-view camera and blind-spot alert as standard. On top of this it there’s heated front seats and a heated steering wheel as well as electric folding and heated door mirrors. A plaque sits on the dash with ‘40’ and individual numbering.

Infotainment consists of a seven-inch driver’s display and a seven-inch touchscreen with sat-nav, digital radio, Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. There’s also the GS Line’s safety systems on board with lane-keep assist, speed sign recognition, driver drowsiness alert and automatic emergency city braking.

Underneath is the same powertrain as in the regular Corsa-e with a 134bhp, 50kWh battery giving it up to 222 miles of range. The Anniversary Edition will be made available to order exclusively online with a starting price of £31,000 and only 1,000 examples will be built.
