New Lego Lamborghini Sian blasts in with 3,696 pieces and £349 price
The Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 is the latest supercar to get the Lego treatment, topping 2018’s Lego Bugatti Chiron as one of the most complex and expensive car sets ever created by the Danish toymaker.
Comprising 3,696 individual pieces and measuring 60cm long, the kit features a recreation of the Italian supercar’s V12 engine, as well as a rising spoiler, all-round suspension and a working eight-speed gearbox.
The Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 is a limited-run 808bhp hybrid supercar, unveiled at last year’s Geneva Motor Show. Based on the Aventador’s platform, but with more power thanks partly to the addition of a 48-volt electric motor to the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 powertrain, just 63 examples are being built, each one has been sold.
Named after Ferdinand Karl Piëch, the late Volkswagen boss who acquired Lamborghini for the VW Group in 1998, the Sian FKP 37 has a 0-62mph time of under 2.8 seconds, can reach a top speed in excess of 217mph, and is rumoured to be priced from around £1.8 million.
The Lego Sian FKP 37 may lack the real car’s performance and exotic materials, but it still carries a hefty price tag for a toy, retailing for £349 when it goes on sale at the beginning of June.
With 97 more pieces than the Lego Chiron, expect a build time in excess of 20 hours for the Lambo, and be sure to get the early, complex, gearbox and chassis stages of construction spot-on, as mistakes here require near-complete disassembly of the kit if they’re not picked up in time.
